Who Called Me

When you want to know Who Called MeThere are times when you get a number on your telephone memory or get a number on caller ID and you want to know who called me.  Maybe it’s someone who’s called you many times and you don’t recognize it as belonging to someone you know.  Before calling back the number, you have several options for finding out who called me without making contact with the person.

How do you go about finding out who called me? The simplest way is to go to the public library or Phone Company and get a hold of a reverse lookup phone book. This gives the name and address of any person in the calling area who has a phone number in the phone book. If the number is unlisted or a cell phone or from another calling area, you won’t find out who called me that easily.  There are other resources for that.

If the number is a land line number and you have a computer, you can find out who called me by using a regular reverse lookup site that compiles the names, numbers and addresses from people around the country. You can input the number and find out who called me in an instant for no fee. If the number isn’t a land line but is instead a cell phone number, it is a bit trickier to find out the information you’re looking for.

For a cell phone number, finding out who called me requires access to the internet and a site that specializes in figuring out a name and address for a cell phone number. Such a site has compiled the databases from almost all cell phone companies and can use this information to give you the name and address of the person who owns the cell phone number. You can find out who called me for a small fee. For example, a single cell phone lookup costs around $10 and you get the name and address for a single number.

If you want to subscribe to the service for a year, it will cost you about $30-$40 for a year and you can find out who called me at any time. You may, however, be looking up just one number with no intention of finding the name and address of any other cell phone owner.

Times where you can’t find out who called me include unlisted numbers and numbers which come from a no contract cell phone. Unlisted numbers are numbers that a person has paid money to the phone company to keep private. It would be rare to find the person who owns that number if it is unlisted. In the situation of a no contract cell phone, an individual has bought a phone at a store and uses cards to put minutes on the phone. There is no contract and therefore is no way to trace the phone number with the person who owns it. Only if the person gave you his number would you be able to connect the person with the cell phone.
